            Multicultural Folk Dance Treasure Chest

Eighteen authentic dances are featured in two volumes, including a DVD/CD, a printed guide and music. (Both volumes were originally contained in one kit, but they are now sold separately.) The dances are a collection of popular folk dances representing a mix of cultural diversity. They range from easy to moderately difficult, and each one is demonstrated by a native from the country in which the dance originated or by an expert in that particular dance form. The instructors wear traditional costumes and show, step-by-step, how to perform the dances.

            Contrast and Continuum Series

This series of four CDs is Eric Chappelle's response to many requests to record pieces to accompany movement exploration and dance technique. Created over several years with guest musicians in a variety of styles and arrangements, the selections feature contrasts in tempo, texture and other musical elements that correspond to the elements of dance. The conceptual approach to teaching dance provides the framework for a booklet tucked in the front of each CD. Ideas on how to use the music and suggestions for extension and creativity are included.

Aboriginality re-imagines the strength and spirit of First Nations culture through narrative mediums that connect urban First Nations youth to their rural ancestral histories. Dallas Arcand, world champion hoop dancer and hip-hop artist, is inspired by both new and traditional elements of First Nations culture. He plays dual roles in being both a positive First Nations presence in mainstream urban media and a touchstone to traditional First Nations roots and culture.

            Lily and the Paper Man

At first, a young girl named Lily is afraid of a gruff homeless man who sells papers on the street. Later, as Lily snuggles down in her warm bed on a cold wintry night, she worries about the homeless man whose toes stick through his shoes. Lily discusses her concern with her doll and comes up with an action plan. This is a heart-warming story that carries valuable messages about caring for others and how a young child can make a positive difference in someone's life. The realistic-style paintings capture the various emotions felt by the characters in this touching story.

BrainDance. Variations for Infants Through Seniors

In these videos, Anne Green Gilbert and her students (toddlers through seniors) demonstrate variations of the BrainDance. It can be used at home, at school, in the office and in the dance studio for brain reorganization, connectivity/alignment, a centering body/brain warm-up or to wake-up or calm-down. Variations include rhymes with young children, standing, lying down, and sitting in chairs, travelling and working with partners.
