Indicators for this outcome
(a) Create a dance journal and identify areas of growth including strengths and challenges.
(b) Practise mindful and/or contemplative exercises (e.g., written reflection, video, blog) as a daily dance practice.
(c) Reflect on personal beliefs while addressing common misconceptions about dance.
(d) Demonstrate personal expression through dance.
(e) Identify and collaborate, where possible, with local role models, mentors, Elders, Knowledge Keepers and artists.
(f) Demonstrate safe movement practices (e.g., anatomical alignment and joint mechanics) important for injury prevention.
(g) Recognize how dance promotes compassion and empathy for the human experience.
(h) Participate, digitally or in-person, in collaborative dance work with community.
(i) Reflect on how dance has created a sense of community in the classroom.
(j) Examine how own dance can address larger questions of personal worldview (e.g., identity-related inquiry questions such as Where do I belong?).
(k) Take personal risks in developing and sharing dance work.
