(a) | Investigate the origins and evolution of various types of dance and examine styles within each type (e.g., jazz as a type of dance including styles such as swing or Charleston, Ukrainian traditional folk dances versus contemporary innovations). |
(b) | Describe how dance makers respond to social events and trends of their time and place. |
(c) | Research ways that dancers and dance makers express ideas through movement and incorporate similar ideas in own dance. |
