Indicators
(a) Discuss the importance of focusing on personal tasks while maintaining an awareness of others working in proximity.
(b) Investigate ways to prevent computer screen eye strain and fatigue.
(c) Discuss benefits of movement, proper posture, exercises, breaks and healthy eating habits for sedentary workers.
(d) Investigate best practices in work station design and ergonomics.
(e) Analyze effects of emotional pressure and working in isolation on mental well-being.
(f) Discuss need for safety practices and equipment (e.g., safety glasses, hard hats, steel toed boots) when visiting work sites.
(g) Identify hazards and safety practices outlined in manufacturer’s operator’s manual for fabrication processes.
(h) Research government regulations for safety (e.g., The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System [WHMIS], Globally Harmonized System [GHS], Occupational Health and Safety[OH&S]).
