(a)

Investigate and develop elevation plans that demonstrate understanding of required technical vocabulary, drawing tools and symbols.

  • Identify grade level on plans.
  • Produce front and side elevations for a set of house plans.
  • Label materials used to finish house exterior and significant elevations (e.g., top of top plate, top of subfloor).
(b) Determine required levels for wall and window heights.
(c) Explore differences among roof types (e.g., flat, gable, shed, mansard, hip).
(d) Design roof pitch in accordance with floor plan.
