Outcome
Consistently apply proper ergonomics and touch keyboarding techniques and skills.
Indicators
(a) Identify repetitive strain injury symptoms and the risk factors for injuries.
(b) Examine potential long-term consequences of not applying proper ergonomics while keyboarding.
(c) Design a workstation and organize work flow to support physical and mental well-being.
(d) Demonstrate healthy ergonomic practices (e.g., keyboard and monitor position, sitting position) while using various devices such as laptop computers, cellular phones and tablets.
(e) Demonstrate touch keyboarding skills (alphabetic, numeric, punctuation, and basic service keys).
(f) Type with a speed and accuracy of over 40 correct words per minute.
(g) Use function keys to perform actions (e.g., undo, redo, close, save, print).
(h) Use modifier keys to insert special characters (e.g., dollar sign, checkmark or flower), mathematical symbols (e.g., percentage, division or approximately equal symbols) and various alphabetic (e.g. French, Nëhiyawëwin or Ukrainian) symbols.
(i) Use modifier key shortcuts to perform actions (e.g., print screen, redo, italicize, bold).
(j) Use appropriate modifier keys to insert special characters, mathematical symbols and letters with accents.
