Module 18C: Video Production Project (Optional)
Outcome
Produce a short creative video using industry standard preproduction, production and postproduction processes.
Indicators
(a)

Establish a vision for the production of a 3 to 5-minute video, considering:

  • objectives (e.g., to sell a product);
  • theme or genre (e.g., persuasive);
  • message or story (e.g., this is the best product for…); and,
  • target audience (e.g., clients).
(b) Discuss ethical and copyright considerations in relation to the sharing or publication of digital videos.
(c)

Develop a project plan that includes:

  • project timeline;
  • equipment;
  • set design;
  • props;
  • other necessary resources;
  • shooting location(s);
  • special permissions;
  • production and editing software, hardware or applications; and,
  • presentation method and tools.
(d) Produce a pre-production document (e.g., treatment, storyboard, script) to guide shooting and production.
(e) Apply proficient camera skills to shoot video footage.
(f) Develop a 3 to 5-minute video, as guided by pre-production documents.
(g) Edit the video in keeping with the intended purpose and plan.
(h) Adjust the plan as required.
(i) Publish the video project for presentation to the intended audience.
(j) Reflect on the effectiveness of the video production process.
