Indicators
(a) | Research the evolution of alternate fuel automobiles (e.g., full electric, hybrid, hydrogen, propane, natural gas) and characteristics of selected models. |
(b) | Examine safety concerns with alternate fuel automobiles and the autobody trade. |
(c) | Research insurance industry claims related to alternate fuel automobiles, including total loss. |
(d) | Create, using drawing skills, computer-aided design programs or model-making, an innovative alternative fuel automobile considering factors such as new technologies, type of alternative fuel, fuel system integrity, protective barriers, occupant and autobody repairer safety and cost efficiency. |
(e) | Develop assessment criteria in consultation with peers and instructor to assess an innovative fuel automobile design. |
(f) | Discuss own and peer’s alternate fuel automobile designs to provide feedback on the strengths and areas for improvement. |
