Outcome
Apply principles of colour theory and tinting to correct common paint problems.
Indicators
(a) Research the basic concepts of colour theory and how different lighting affects colour perception.
(b) Compare metallic, pearlescent and tri-coat types of paint.
(c) Describe and apply mixing variants to colour match original factory paint.
(d) Perform a colour tinting to obtain a blendable match for a test panel.
(e) Discuss own and peer’s colour matching to provide feedback on the strengths and areas for improvement.
(f) Explore reasons refinish colours may not match the original automobile colour.
