(a)

Explain the responsibility of buyers when purchasing automobiles, including:

  • the legal implications of purchasing new or used automobiles;
  • factors to consider when selecting appropriate automobiles to meet specific needs/wants;
  • evaluating an automobile’s condition;
  • types of warranty (e.g., limited, extended, manufacturer’s) available to the purchaser;
  • options of purchasing or leasing automobiles;
  • recertification when purchasing tagged automobiles; and,
  • implications of “buyer beware” (e.g., stolen automobile, eligible for registration, liens against an automobile, automobile history).
(b) Describe the responsibility of sellers when selling automobiles including the ethical and legal implications of selling used automobiles.
