| (a) | Identify and follow safe work practices when working with automotive fasteners, including maintaining a clean and organized work area. |
| (b) | Describe common categories (e.g., clips, pins, nuts, bolts, washers, screws and rivets) of automotive fasteners. |
| (c) | Identify fasteners based on specifications such as metric/SAE, grade, length, diameter and thread pitch. |
| (d) | Describe types (e.g., hex, 12 point and Torx) of fastener heads commonly found in automotive applications. |
| (e) | Identify and use appropriate tools to manipulate fasteners. |
| (f) | Discuss the importance of torqueing fasteners, including following a fastener tightening sequence. |
| (g) | Determine torque values and sequences for specific fasteners. |
| (h) | Adjust and use torque wrenches and/or angle gauges to properly tighten fasteners. |
