| (a) | Identify the importance of safety when undertaking automotive service procedures, including safety hazards and preventative measures common to the automotive industry. |
| (b) | Describe ways to reduce personal injury or material and equipment damage as a result of unsafe work acts or environments. |
| (c) | Inspect and utilize protective devices on equipment. |
| (d) | Identify industry standard personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety goggles, hearing protection, gloves and footwear, and appropriate PPE cleaning procedures. |
| (e) | Identify potential health concerns when PPE is not used properly. |
| (f) | Identify the correct fire extinguisher for different classifications (i.e., A, B, C, D and K) of fires and how to use the extinguisher correctly (i.e., PASS - Pull Aim Squeeze Sweep). |
