(b) Describe common categories (e.g., clips, pins, nuts, bolts, washers, screws and rivets) of automotive fasteners.
(c) Identify fasteners based on specifications such as metric/SAE, grade, length, diameter and thread pitch.
(d) Describe types (e.g., hex, 12 point and Torx) of fastener heads commonly found in automotive applications.
(e) Identify and use appropriate tools to manipulate fasteners.
(f) Discuss the importance of torqueing fasteners, including following a fastener tightening sequence.
(g) Determine torque values and sequences for specific fasteners.
(h) Adjust and use torque wrenches and/or angle gauges to properly tighten fasteners.
(i) Perform fastener related tasks such as extraction, thread repair and tap and die selection and use.
