(a) Discuss risks and potential safety hazards common to the electrical industry.
(b) Identify legislation and industry standards related to working with electricity and equipment.
(c) Identify the presence of live voltage using tools such as a multimeter or non-contact voltage tester.
(d) Demonstrate proper lockout and tagout procedures.
(e) Explain the purpose of ventilation in a confined environment when working with electrical devices such as a soldering iron.
(f) Demonstrate safe practices (e.g., check equipment for damaged wires and proper grounding and ensure work area is clean and dry) when working with electrical equipment.
(g) Understand the need for circuit protection in electrical circuits.
(h) Inspect electrical equipment for hazards before use.
(i) Understand fall protection equipment (FPE) requirements and usage.
(j) Discuss the uses of aerial work platforms (e.g., scissor lift) and fall protection.
