Demonstrate safe use of
an iron or steamer.
Indicators
| (a) | Differentiate between ironing, pressing and steaming. |
| (b) | Identify equipment such as iron, steamer, ironing board, pressing cloth, sleeve board, tailor’s ham and needle board. |
| (c) | Compare heat settings for various fabrics (e.g., synthetic, natural). |
| (d) | Demonstrate use of proper pressing/ironing techniques and temperature settings. |
| (e) | Apply use of proper steaming and/or ironing settings and techniques. |
| (f) | Practise ironing/steaming different types of clothing (e.g., dress shirt, pants, skirt). |
