(a) Explore various patterns and time allotted for garment creation.
(b) Investigate how to read a pattern envelope such as fabric selection fabric recommendations and required notions.
(c) Explore how culture might influence personal choices in patterns, fabrics and clothing shapes and lines.
(d) Analyze fabric choices (e.g., cost, durability, wear ability) for chosen pattern.
(e) Determine body measurements to select appropriate pattern size.
(f) Investigate notions needed for garment completion (e.g., zipper, thread choice, snaps, buttons).
(g) Examine elements of the pattern instruction sheet (e.g., pattern pieces, sewing symbols).
(h) Prepare fabric for sewing (e.g., preshrinking, ironing, checking grain).
(i) Apply any necessary pattern alterations.
(j) Demonstrate pattern layout (e.g., fabric grainline, nap, width of fabric, pattern view).
(k) Construct a project according to the pattern selected.
