Outcome
Investigate how textiles are created and changed for appropriate consumer use.
Indicators
(a) Investigate varieties of weave variations.
(b) Examine processes of fabric construction.
(c) Describe and evaluate a variety of fabric finishes (e.g., chemical, mechanical).
(d) Investigate (e.g., purpose, cost, fabrication, care) smart wearables such as smart active wear, sleepwear and socks.
(e) Examine textile application in daily life (e.g., household goods, industrial use, medical application, protective gear and sporting goods).
(f) Research and evaluate fabric processing, dyeing, printing and environmental concerns (e.g., micro-fibre, fibre from plastic).
(g) Explore traditional First Nations and Métis methods of dyeing textiles.
