Examine design fundamentals.
Indicators
(a) Identify and understand the elements of design and terminology associated with line, colour, shape/form, space, texture and pattern.
(b) Identify and understand the principles of design and terminology associated with balance, proportion, rhythm, emphasis, unity.
(c) Apply the elements and principles of design in the selection or creation of apparel and textile items.
(d) Explore elements of the universal design process of creating clothing for people with a wide range of abilities.
(e) Analyze the illusions created by the use of design elements and principles.
(f) Demonstrate knowledge of design elements and principles through a presentation or the completion of a project (e.g., personal clothing, quilting, interior décor item).
(g) Investigate the psychology of design fundamentals (e.g., colour, texture, pattern).
