Indicators
(a) | Investigate cultural and historic significance of quilting (e.g., pioneers, First Nations, Underground Railway, re-use of fabric, social significance). |

(c) | Demonstrate appropriate care and use of equipment (e.g., setting machine tension, stitch selection, proper use of machine attachments). |
(d) | Examine a variety of quilting patterns (e.g., log cabin, bear paw, star) for quilt creations. |
(e) | Select a pattern (e.g., rag quilts, simple block quilts). |
(f) | Apply mathematical concepts (e.g., problem solving, estimation, measurement, pattern-making, tessellations, geometric shapes) found within the process of quilting. |
(g) | Apply knowledge of quilt pattern construction (e.g., cutting of fabric, notions, fabric choices, sub-cutting) to basic quilt creation. |
(h) | Practise quilt finishing techniques (e.g., bias binding, attachment). |
(i) | Construct quilt using basic techniques (e.g., block assembly, pressing techniques, row assembly, layering of batting, pinning, stitch in the ditch). |
