(a) | Identify products and discuss selection criteria based on alignment with client budget and behaviours (e.g., work outside, stay at home). |
(b) | Categorize different hair care products based on their chemical ingredients or lack of chemical ingredients. |
(c) | Define potential hydrogen (pH), acidity and alkalinity. |
(d) | Determine the pH level of hair and products (e.g., shampoos, conditioners, hydrochloric acid, lye, permanent wave solution). |
(e) | Discuss what impact drugstore products have on hair compared to professional hair care products. |
(f) | Compare ingredient lists of professional products for different hair textures and characteristics. |
(g) | Recognize how allergies and conditions affect product selection. |
(h) | Conduct an inquiry into the question, how does hair texture (e.g., fine, medium, coarse, kinky, curl pattern or coil configuration) and hair characteristics (e.g., elasticity, porosity, condition and density) influence the selection of hair care products? |
