(a) | Identify different makeup products (e.g., foundation, concealer, powder, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, lashes, blush, contour, eyebrow and lip products) used in creating a full make up look. |
(b) | Identify the different formulations of makeup products such as liquid, cream, gel, mousse, cake, loose powder, pressed powder. |
(c) | Identify all of the different packaging options for cosmetics (e.g., wand and liquid products, crème or gel based products, loose powder, pressed powder, pencils, stick products) and discuss how to safely use each. |
(d) | Explain appropriate kit maintenance including cleaning products and brushes before and after use. |
(e) | Categorize makeup products and discuss criteria for selection based on alignment with client budget and behaviours (e.g., work outside, stay at home and little or ongoing application of makeup). |
(f) | Compare drugstore makeup products to professional products. |
(g) | Compare ingredient lists of professional products. |
(h) | Recognize how allergies affect makeup product selection. |
(i) | Research the environmental impact and sustainability of makeup products and packaging. |
(j) | Investigate what ingredients give products their shelf life. |
