Execute a basic facial
service.
Indicators
(a) | Discuss questions or information that might appear on a consultation form and why the questions or information is important for skin care technicians. |
(b) | Describe skin types, condition, contraindications, anatomy and physiology related to a facial service. |
(c) | Review products such as hypoallergenic and describe how they impact the skin. |
(d) | Research massage movements for a basic facial. |
(e) | Perform client consultation and discuss upcoming service with the client. |
(f) | Create a comfortable environment when draping a client (e.g., covering hair line and warm blankets). |
(g) | Analyze client skin type and assess any skin conditions and/or contraindications. |
(h) | Identify products for use on clients’ skin. |
(i) | Perform a basic facial including cleanse, tone, steam or hot towels, exfoliate, mask, massage and moisturize. |
(j) | Discuss client expectations and retail recommendations for home care. |
