Module 53C: Nail Enhancement Application (Optional)
Outcome
Examine the use of tips and forms in a nail enhancement service.
Indicators
(a) List and describe the process for creating sculpted nails.
(b) Investigate the various selection of nail tips (e.g., full well, partial well and well-less).
(c) Discuss and apply knowledge and skills related to pre-service for a nail enhancement service.
(d) Identify, prepare and assemble the products needed to perform a nail enhancement service.
(e) Demonstrate the process of preparing the workstation for a nail enhancement service.
(f) Determine the steps involved in proper adhesion of nail tips (e.g., nail plate preparation, free edge preparation, tip preparation and customizing tips)
(g) Execute the steps involved in shaping and blending nail tips such as trimming, blend, shape, buff and clean.
(h) Execute the application of a full set of nail tips.
(i) Practise (e.g., using sticks, nail wheels) the application of a set of nail tips.
(j) Investigate the various types of nail forms and their functions.
(k) Demonstrate customizing and applying nail forms to fit different nail shapes (e.g., strong c-curve, flat nails, wide nails and fan nails).
(l) Identify safety concerns when using specialized implements, cosmetics and materials.
(m) Demonstrate proper usage of implements, cosmetics and materials required to perform nail enhancement techniques.
(n) Demonstrate a set of tips and forms.
(o) Apply safety and sanitation procedures while performing a nail enhancement service.
(p) Apply sanitation, disinfection and sterilization procedures following a nail enhancement service.
(q) Critique the process and end result of a nail enhancement service.
