Indicators
(a) | Discuss the benefits of an indoor garden such as year-round availability to fresh produce, protection from weather elements, air purification; and emotional therapy. |
(b) | Examine tips for growing and maintaining a thriving indoor garden. |
(c) | Differentiate between edible plants that are conducive for growing indoors to others that are difficult to grow indoors (e.g., vegetables and leafy greens vs. fruit-bearing and vining plants). |
(d) | Research typical requirements (e.g., lighting, water, equipment, tools, supplies) for an indoor garden. |
(e) | Assess the availability of, and costs associated with, typical indoor garden requirements. |
(f) | Design a plan for an indoor garden, including location, required materials and associated costs. |
(g) | Implement a plan for, and monitor progress of, an indoor garden. |
(h) | Reflect on challenges and successes experienced in planning, planting and maintaining an indoor garden. |
