Outcome
Grow an indoor garden.
Indicators
(a) Discuss the benefits of an indoor garden such as year-round availability to fresh produce, protection from weather elements, air purification; and emotional therapy.
(b) Examine tips for growing and maintaining a thriving indoor garden.
(c) Differentiate between edible plants that are conducive for growing indoors to others that are difficult to grow indoors (e.g., vegetables and leafy greens vs. fruit-bearing and vining plants).
(d) Research typical requirements (e.g., lighting, water, equipment, tools, supplies) for an indoor garden.
(e) Assess the availability of, and costs associated with, typical indoor garden requirements.
(f) Design a plan for an indoor garden, including location, required materials and associated costs.
(g) Implement a plan for, and monitor progress of, an indoor garden.
(h) Reflect on challenges and successes experienced in planning, planting and maintaining an indoor garden.
