Outcome
Investigate agribusiness activity and enterprises throughout the agricultural supply chain.
Indicators
(a)

Identify the stages typically associated with the agricultural supply chain, including:

  • inputs;
  • production;
  • marketing and selling of primary products;
  • transportation and distribution;
  • processing and manufacturing;
  • grading;
  • packaging;
  • storing;
  • merchandising;
  • wholesaling;
  • retailing and services;
  • preparation and consumption;
  • resource and waste recovery;
  • research and development;
  • health, safety and environment; and,
  • technology, sales and support services.
(b) Examine the kinds of activities typically associated with each stage of the supply chain for several agriculture products destined for domestic and global markets.
(c) Assess examples of agribusiness enterprises that support activities at every stage of the agricultural supply chain.
(d) Investigate factors (e.g., inputs to the product or service, processes and techniques, human resources, safety and environmental standards and rules and regulations) which may influence or affect agribusiness enterprises at each stage of the agricultural supply chain.
(e) Examine the effect of events (e.g., pandemic, trade wars, transportation issues, inclement weather and labour strikes) on various stages of the agricultural supply chain.
