Outcome
Assess characteristics and skills important for entrepreneurial success.
Indicators
(a) Differentiate between characteristics and skills.
(b) Research characteristics (e.g., confidence, passion and motivation) and skills (e.g., leadership, teamwork and networking) common to successful entrepreneurs.
(c) Differentiate between characteristics that are innate and those that are learned and gained through time and experience.
(d) Examine the relationship among personal financial competence and confidence, personal credit score and entrepreneurial progress and success.
(e) Discuss what it means to have an entrepreneurial mindset.
(f) Debate the statement, “Entrepreneurs are born.”
(g) Examine the role of creativity in entrepreneurship.
(h) Describe interpersonal skills (e.g., verbal and non-verbal communication, listening, negotiation, decision-making and assertiveness) that contribute to entrepreneurial success.
(i) Identify traits (e.g., self-doubt, perfectionism and being easily distracted) that may hinder entrepreneurial success.
(j) Reflect on personal characteristics, skills, interest in, and suitability for, entrepreneurship as a career pathway of choice or for intrapreneurship within a company or organization.
(k) Propose ways (e.g., using a team approach, formal and informal education and volunteering) to overcome personal shortcomings necessary for entrepreneurial success.
(l) Commit to a personal plan for utilizing personal characteristics and skills and for overcoming shortcomings necessary for entrepreneurial success.
(m) Recognize and affirm the characteristics and skills possessed by classmates.
