Indicators
(a) Explain the function and importance of human resource management within a business.
(b) Research factors (e.g., the number of employees required currently and in the next few years, training that will be provided, job requirements/descriptions, and how and how much employees will be paid) to be considered in a human resources plan.
(c) Research the potential impact of generational and cultural gaps within Saskatchewan workplaces.
(d) Strategize ways to effectively manage generational and cultural gaps within the workplace.
(e) Identify sources (e.g., referrals from friends and employees, hiring from within, employment agencies and social media platforms) for recruiting potential employees.
(f) Conduct an inquiry into the processes commonly used by employers to attract, screen and hire employees.
(g) Assess Saskatchewan and Canadian laws that govern workplace standards pertaining, but not limited, to workplace safety, anti-discrimination, harassment, accessibility and environmental responsibility.
(h) Discuss the relationship among employee satisfaction with their jobs, business success and a business’ reputation.
(i) Propose effective employee retention strategies (e.g., training, bonuses and benefits).
