Outcome
Develop an awareness of the agriculture industry.
Indicators
(a) Explore the history of the agriculture industry in Saskatchewan.
(b) Identify the different sectors (e.g., crops, livestock, fisheries, apiculture and fruit farming) of the agriculture industry.
(c) Investigate the percentage of residents of Saskatchewan who are employed in the agriculture industry.
(d) Identify the types (e.g., seeding, application, harvesting and tillage) and specific examples (e.g., air seeder, sprayer and combine) of equipment used in agriculture.
(e) Research and create a representation (e.g., timeline and infographic) of important dates in the history of the development of agricultural equipment (e.g., tractors and ploughs).
(f) Conduct an inquiry to identify the variety of agricultural equipment designed for different industries (e.g., apiculture, dairy farming, poultry farming, vegetable and fruit farming).
