Communicate interactively in Nakoda, with guidance, to experience the natural and constructed environments of the community.
Indicators for this outcome
(a) Interact with classmates and teacher, with guidance, during learning activities using the Nakoda language.
(b) Interact with classmates in pairs or small groups, with guidance, to plan and complete class projects using the Nakoda language.
(c) Seek and record information to further understanding of Nakoda concepts from Elders and other knowledge keepers within the community.
(d) Participate, with guidance, in developing language and culture during experiential learning opportunities, such as helping at community/cultural events, volunteering with child care children, visiting and conversing with Elders in the community, planning cultural camps/activities.
(e) Discuss and promote positive interactions and relationships in the school (e.g., how to engage with Elders).
(f) Respond to a variety of text forms including storytelling in a variety of media (e.g., recorded instructions or events, creating illustrations, respond in learning logs or questioning the author).
(g) Respond to representation of ideas, events and information by creating a chart, illustrations or using technology.
