Outcome
Create sketches demonstrating layout and proportion using digital tools to illustrate ideas and support design processes.
Indicators
(a) Create a sketch and shade of a natural form using digital tools such as design software, digital stylus and photo manipulation software.
(b) Create a sketch and shade of a manufactured form using digital tools such as digital software, digital stylus, and photo manipulation software.
(c) Identify drawings of various geometric forms such as two-dimensional geometric figures, orthographic form or pictorial form.
(d) Articulate the differences between drawings of various geometric forms such as two-dimensional geometric figures, orthographic form, or pictorial form.
(e) Sketch simple two-dimensional geometric figures and shapes using digital tools, demonstrating aspects including:
  • layout;
  • proportion;
  • accuracy; and,
  • neatness.
(f) Sketch orthographic drawings using digital tools, demonstrating:
  • layout;
  • proportion;
  • accuracy; and,
  • neatness.
(g) Sketch isometric drawings (30o and 60o) using digital tools, demonstrating:
  • layout;
  • proportion;
  • accuracy; and,
  • neatness.
(h) Sketch pictorial drawings using digital tools, demonstrating:
  • layout;
  • proportion;
  • accuracy; and,
  • neatness.
(i) Compare the advantages and disadvantages of freehand drawings of design sketches and design sketches using digital tools.
(j) Identify contexts in which free hand sketching is most appropriate and those in which digital sketching is most appropriate.
