Outcome
Create a two-dimensional graphic representation using the elements and principles of design.
Indicators
(a) | Identify the purpose of graphic design as a form of communication with an audience. |
(b) | Apply the elements and principles of graphic design in a two-dimensional creation, such as a webpage, logo or advertisement. |

Demonstrate elements and principles of design in a graphic design challenge, including:

(d) | Research fundamental aspects of typography such as line length, type size and leading (i.e., space between lines of text). |
(e) | Manipulate typography to create various effects in communication. |
(f) | Experiment with basic tools used to create graphic designs, such as graphic design software, photo manipulation software, layout software, vector graphic software, card stock, cutting tools and artistic mediums (e.g., paints, charcoal, ink, chalk). |
(g) | Solve a graphic design challenge, adhering to applicable copyright permissions and restrictions. |
(h) | Co-develop and use of assessment devices such as rubrics and checklists to assess graphic designs. |
(i) | Assess graphic design products and software and justify the rationale for personal design choices. |
