Outcome
Analyze a current social issue or need using the design process.
Indicators
(a) | Explore design expectations that occur in society. |
(b) | Predict how factors such as race, gender, age, socio- economic status, mental health and physical abilities can influence the design process. |
(c) | Speculate how the design of products, processes and places can limit access based on factors such as race, gender, sexual orientation, age, socio-economic status, mental health and physical well-being. |
(d) | Brainstorm a list of social issues to which a design solution may be possible. |
(e) | Develop a proposal for a design modification to resolve a given social issue or need utilizing the principles and elements of design. |
(f) | Develop a design proposal for a product or system modification that will solve the given challenge. |
(g) | Reflect on the process of imagining solutions to design problems documented in a journal or portfolio. |
