Outcome
Analyze a current social issue or need using the design process.
Indicators
(a) Explore design expectations that occur in society.
(b) Predict how factors such as race, gender, age, socio- economic status, mental health and physical abilities can influence the design process.
(c) Speculate how the design of products, processes and places can limit access based on factors such as race, gender, sexual orientation, age, socio-economic status, mental health and physical well-being.
(d) Brainstorm a list of social issues to which a design solution may be possible.
(e) Develop a proposal for a design modification to resolve a given social issue or need utilizing the principles and elements of design.
(f) Develop a design proposal for a product or system modification that will solve the given challenge.
(g) Reflect on the process of imagining solutions to design problems documented in a journal or portfolio.
