Outcome
Investigate three-dimensional design aesthetics.
Indicators
(a) Summarize the relationship between function and aesthetics.
(b) Describe how everyday products are designed to influence consumer choices (e.g., material choices influencing perceived value of product, use of colour in the finished product).
(c) Identify various materials and processes that might be employed in producing an aesthetically pleasing product.
(d) Produce a design brief, including:
  • selection of a problem of personal choice to be solved;
  • identification of materials and fabrication processes;
  • description of the stages of production;
  • drawings; and,
  • timelines for development.
(e) Create a three-dimensional model of a proposed product.
(f) Construct various versions of a product exploring aesthetic changes.
(g) Describe how aesthetic changes affect user interaction with a product.
