(a)	Define the term industrial design.
(b)	Differentiate between industrial design and design of machines and systems for heavy industry.
(c)	Explain the following concepts associated with industrial design: innovation vs. continuous improvement; brand differentiation vs. product differentiation; functionality; aesthetics; integrity; ethics; durability; and, the safety of products.
(d)	Describe the importance of industrial design in meeting aesthetic needs, including: visual product differentiation; pride of ownership, image and style; and, aesthetic appeal as motivator for a design team.
(e)	Assess the quality of industrial design of a given product, according to: usability; emotional appeal; ability to maintain and repair; efficient use of resources; and, product differentiation.
(f)	Identify an improvement to the industrial design of a given product.
(g)	Produce a design solution that addresses an improvement to a given product.
