Assess the importance of environmental design to human well-being.
Indicators
(a) | Define environmental design and its various applications (e.g., building architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, regional and urban planning). |
(b) | Discuss the importance of environmental design in relation to human well-being. |
(c) | Examine creativity and innovation and their relationship to environmental design. |
(d) | Describe the application of universal design to environmental design. |
(e) | Create a plan for a landscape design, architectural design, interior design, or an urban development design incorporating environmental design considerations. |
(f) | Investigate local, provincial and national environmental requirements and apply to a design plan (e.g., community regulations about building materials, colour, landscape options, access to easements). |
(g) | Examine the design process and how it applies to environmental design. |
(h) | Critique the functionality and purpose to contemporary environmental design applications. |
