(a) | Investigate the history of numbered treaties in Saskatchewan. |
(b) | Create a map of treaty boundaries and Indigenous communities in Saskatchewan. |
(c) | Explore the impact The Saskatchewan Treaty Land Entitlement Framework Agreement on the energy and mining industries. |
(d) | Discuss how First Nations and Métis people use storytelling to convey knowledge about the land (e.g., the impact on Indigenous communities, families, traditional foods and medicines). |
(e) | Compare treaty relationships and the spirit and intent of the treaties, where both parties benefit, to other relationships found within the energy and mining industries. |
(f) | Research the past and current relationship crown and private corporations have with Indigenous peoples when developing energy and mining resources. |
(g) | Examine how treaty rights and traditional territories impact energy and mining. |
(h) | Examine the positions of First Nations and government agencies responsible for the management and stewardship of energy and mining resources (e.g., duty to consult process). |
(i) | Explore the impact of the Natural Resources Transfer Agreements on both the Indigenous peoples and the resource industry. |
