Indicators
(a) | Describe the different types of forests within Canada (e.g., Acadian, boreal, coastal, Great Lakes–St. Lawrence and subalpine). |
(b) | Describe how forests affect the earth’s carbon balance. |
(c) | Research the similarities and differences in forestry practices, policies and procedures in different provinces and countries. |
(d) | Identify how each area within the forestry industry (e.g., harvesting, reforestation, pulping operations, manufacturing, health and safety) connects to the local, provincial/territorial or global economy. |
(e) | Discuss the contribution of the boreal forest in Saskatchewan to the local, Canadian and global economies. |
(f) | Compare different global perspectives on forestry practices, policies and procedures with those in Saskatchewan. |
