Indicators
(a) | Investigate the conducting of a forest survey, the type of information gathered and the purpose for collecting data. |
(b) | Distinguish between forest samples and forest populations. |
(c) | Research the goals and techniques for conducting a forestry survey. |
(d) | Discuss what technology and equipment are used to measure a forest and conduct a forestry survey. |
(e) | Collect boreal forest measurements (e.g., diameter, circumference and height of trees and distribution of species) accurately and reliably. |
(f) | Apply appropriate safety procedures and use of equipment when taking forest measurements. |
(g) | Select appropriate and efficient ways to organize data collection (e.g., chart, table and technology) for analysis. |
(h) | Analyze collected data to determine the condition and distribution of tree or wildlife species in the forest. |
