Outcome
Employ cooperative group living skills.
Indicators
(a) Explore examples of teamwork in nature (e.g., geese's flying formation).
(b) Participate in a variety of team-building activities.
(c) Discuss the importance of cooperative living in communities in different cultures (e.g., Indigenous, Asian and Nordic), including a shared sense of responsibility for the good of the collective.
(d) Explore examples of how group cooperation was employed in Indigenous ways of living (e.g., hide tanning, rope making and shelter building).
(e) Describe the various roles required to work effectively as a group in outdoor living situations, such as meal preparation and shelter building.
(f) Implement constructive problem-solving strategies, including eliciting input from each group member.
(g) Identify rules and norms (e.g., sharing responsibility, contributing to the group’s activities and respecting others) for effective group living.
(h) Analyze the importance of establishing group norms.
(i) Exhibit cooperative behaviour in partner recreational activities (e.g., wall climbing and canoe paddling).
(j) Explain the importance of effective communication in group living.
