(a) | Identify potential safety hazards (e.g., electricity, chemicals, rotating machines, ventilation and noise) in the machining work environment. |
(b) | Demonstrate consistent and effective use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure personal safety and the safety of others in the workspace. |
(c) | Discuss processes involved in good housekeeping procedures and routines in the machine shop. |
(d) | Locate fire extinguishers, the eye-wash station and the first-aid station in the work environment. |
(e) | Identify preventative measures to avoid specific accidents common to machining equipment and environments. |
(f) | Recognize potential hazards presented by tools and equipment in the machine shop. |
(g) | Demonstrate safe usage of all tools and equipment. |
(h) | Create an emergency evacuation plan to safely leave the machine shop. |
