MACH41
Module 41: Quality Control (Optional)
Outcome
Investigate the importance of quality control in the manufacturing process.
Indicators
(a) Identify the difference between destructive and non-destructive testing.
(b) Describe methods of performing non-destructive tests (e.g., radiographic, magnetic, fluorescent penetrant, ultrasonic and electric eddy-current).
(c) Explore methods of destructive testing (e.g., tension, bend, Charpy impact, peel and crush testing).
(d) Identify industry examples of quality control processes.
(e) Create quality control criteria (e.g., measurement, hardness scale, go and no-go gauges) for use in analysis of a workpiece.
(f) Analyze a personal workpiece using quality control criteria.
