Assess the role of the
Sask911 system in
supporting public
safety in the province.
Indicators
(a) | Describe the purpose of, and services provided by, the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency Sask911 system. |
(b) | Investigate the availability and processes for qualifying for and accessing the text message service for Sask911 as a Saskatchewan resident. |
(c) | Discuss what to do if 911 is dialed accidentally. |
(d) | Investigate the consequences of placing a prank call to 911. |
(e) | Create a list of tips for being able to provide the information required by Sask911 (e.g., keep calm, know your location or surroundings, stay on the line). |
(f) | Describe the response and support a caller to Sask911 may encounter, including the sequence of events that typically unfold. |

Examine the components of, and roles associated with, the Sask911 system including:

(h) | Determine actions to take if 911 is not available (e.g., no phone access, out of cell service, isolated area) during an emergency. |
