Outcome
Assess the purpose and importance of professionalism in all areas of emergency services.
Indicators
(a) Explain deportment as it relates to the professionalism of emergency services personnel.
(b) Summarize professional skills (e.g., respect for all individuals, groups and people; punctuality; integrity; ability to contribute positively to a team with diverse members; responsible use of social media) that contribute to good deportment.
(c) Justify the personal and professional importance of deportment for those who work in emergency services.
(d) Develop and implement a plan for developing and demonstrating additional professional skills required for a successful career in emergency services.
(e) Research the use of uniform and dress, including ceremonial attire, associated with various areas of emergency services.
(f) Investigate the origin, symbolism and use of badges such as the Maltese Cross, in emergency services.
(g) Outline reasons to maintain confidentiality in the provision of emergency services.
