(a)	Identify the three basic elements of fire known as the fire triangle (i.e., oxygen, heat, fuel).
(b)	Explain the classes of fire, including: A - combustible materials such as paper and wood; B - flammable liquids such as paint and petrol; C - flammable gasses such as butane and methane; D - flammable metals such as lithium and potassium; K - kitchen fire fueled by flammable cooking liquids such as vegetable oils or cooking grease.
(c)	Explain the principle of fire extinguishment through cooling, smothering or starvation.
(d)	Investigate types of fire extinguishing agents (i.e., water, foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide, wet chemical).
(e)	Research other ways to extinguish a fire using common objects or materials such as dirt or sand, a blanket or baking soda.
(f)	Assess the effectiveness and limitations of each agent in extinguishing all classes of fire.
(g)	Demonstrate or explain use of effective methods for applying various extinguishing agents, such as: rain on; roll on; and, bank down.
(h)	Recommend extinguishing agents for a variety of fire-burning scenarios.
