(a)	Identify situations in which first responders need to call 911 for assistance from Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
(b)	Investigate the steps to secure an emergency scene.
(c)	Explain the process to check the scene (e.g., safety, hazards, what happened, how the incident happened)
(d)	Describe the processes of conducting a primary assessment (e.g., airway, breathing, circulation) on an injured person.
(e)	Describe the processes of providing care for a victim while waiting for additional assistance from EMS, including: monitoring breathing; recovery position; keeping the person comfortable; and, reassurance.
(f)	Investigate the process to provide secondary assessment using SAMPLE: signs and symptoms; allergies; medications; past medical history; last oral intake; and, events leading up to the emergency.
(g)	Research methods to safely check vital signs.
(h)	Investigate methods for exploratory examination of potential injuries.
(i)	Examine the use of the Incident Command System (ICS) in scene management involving multiple casualties.
(j)	Participate in a mock EMS scene to practice emergency scene management procedures.
