Outcome
Investigate preparation for, and use of, the Police Fitness Assessment and the Police Officer Physical Abilities Test in police training.
Indicators
(a) Analyze the components of the Police Fitness Assessment (PFA).
(b) Analyze the components of the Police Officer Physical Abilities Test (POPAT).
(c) Explain the reasons for the requirement of the PFA/POPAT assessment in police training programs.
(d) Examine the evolution of the use of the PFA/POPAT assessment in policing training.
(e) Explore reasons why police recruits must pass the PFA/POPAT assessment.
(f) Research the preparations (e.g., training plan) and requirements (e.g., doctor’s physical assessment) for the PFA/POPAT assessment.
(g) Examine the benchmarks required to pass the PFA/POPAT assessment in police training programs.
(h) Create a plan to train for the components of the PFA/POPAT assessment.
