Vocal jazz is an elective music course within the arts education area of study and is allocated 100 hours. It is important that students receive the full amount of time allocated to their study of vocal jazz. The learning should be focused upon students attaining the understanding and skills as defined by the outcomes and indicators stated in this curriculum.
This curriculum has been designed to work with different class orientations (large or small groups), single or multi-grade classrooms, students with limited prior knowledge of the subject and students with varied experience with their voice or instrument.
