Course Configurations
(a) | Describe situations when buying, renting or leasing to obtain items such as housing, vehicles or furniture may be considered viable options. |
(b) | Compare the advantages and disadvantages of buying, renting and leasing. |
(c) | Analyze the factors that influence one’s decision to buy, rent or lease. |
(d) | Investigate the roles of, and services provided by, professionals such as real estate agents and vehicle dealership sales associates in buying, renting, or leasing. |
(e) | Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of buying and selling privately compared to using the services of a professional. |
(f) | Discuss different types of ownership and leaseholds with varying circumstances (e.g., marriage, living common law and joint tenancy). |











This Canadian resource supports the Financial Literacy curriculum and provides information at a suitable introductory level. The resource is organized under six headings for a total of 15 modules.

The Indigenous Edition of Money and Youth builds on the original resource from the Canadian Foundation for Economic Education, CFEE. Damon Johnston, President of the Aboriginal Council of Winnipeg, provided guidance rooted in traditional teachings and the Seven Sacred Laws. Vanessa Everett, CEO of Economic Development with the Keewatin Tribal Council, adapted the original version by Gary Rabbior of CFEE. Input from respected individuals across Turtle Island also helped shape this edition.
