(a) Explain the term transferable skills and provide examples of transferable skills within the context of specific occupations or jobs.
(b)

Compare the skills described by the Employability Skills and the skills described by the Essential Skills taxonomies which were developed by the Conference Board of Canada and Human Resources and Service Development Canada respectively.

(c) Compare transferable skills to soft skills.
(d) Showcase one’s transferable and soft skills in a personal career portfolio.
(e) Explore volunteer activities within the community and discuss the opportunities they provide for enhancing one’s transferable skills.
(f) Discuss opportunities to enhance one’s transferable skills through leisure activities.
(g) Analyze local and provincial employment advertisements found in a variety of sources (e.g., online, print and social media) for common job requirements, including skills.
(h) Explore and discuss ways to develop and improve upon one’s skill set while still in high school.
